RARE MUSHROOM "GRMAČA" FOUND IN THE FORESTS OF ROGATICA

The first autumn rains have awakened the long-dormant world of mushrooms, and now, during walks through the forests and thickets around Rogatica, one can spot species that appear only in spring and fall.

Among them is the grmača mushroom — its name itself revealing where it thrives and is most often found, according to reports from Glas Srpske.

This rare and edible mushroom is especially valued by locals, who say it tastes best in soups or when sautéed.

Mushroom enthusiasts note that grmača is easily distinguished from poisonous varieties by its white petals and mild flavor, making it a prized find for foragers in the Rogatica region.
