SUCCESSFUL STOCKING OF ALAGOVAC LAKE WITH CARP

As part of ongoing efforts to preserve natural resources and improve the fish population, a successful carp stocking was carried out at Alagovac Lake.

Members of the Sports Fishing Association “Alagovac” released 180 kilograms of young carp, each weighing between 300 and 600 grams, into the lake. This was the third stocking operation of the year, supported by HET and the fish farm Laks from Mostar.

The activity represents another important step toward preserving the ecosystem and creating better conditions for sport fishing and recreation. Members of the “Alagovac” association emphasized the importance of such initiatives, noting that maintaining a healthy fish population requires continuous care—not only through stocking but also through responsible behavior from all visitors to the lake.

Nevesinje’s sport fishermen highlighted their commitment to regular inspections in cooperation with the lake’s fish warden service, determined to prevent illegal fishing and protect the fish population.
