Built in the 13th century, this monastery once housed the relics of Saint Sava, but today you can only see his hand, a symbol of hope and spiritual strength. There is also the staff of Saint Sava, one of the most valuable cultural treasures of our people, preserved in the monastery's treasury.

The interior of the monastery is adorned with the famous fresco – the White Angel, a masterpiece of Serbian art and a symbol of peace and spirituality, which has traveled the world and even the universe. This magnificent depiction inspires all who enter the monastery, offering moments of silence and reflection.

Manastir Mileševa is not the only treasure of this region – nearby you will find the Sopotnica Waterfalls, a true natural wonder of western Serbia. The sound of flowing water, the scent of moss and green nature, along with breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and villages, make this place perfect for relaxation and spiritual cleansing.

Although the path to the waterfalls is challenging, as we decided to hike from the main road, the effort was worth it – the silence, peace, and incredible beauty of this area remain etched in memory, as shared in the Instagram post by Milica Pavlović.

A visit to Manastir Mileševa and the Sopotnica Waterfalls is not just an ordinary trip, but a return to oneself.
