PREPARATIONS FOR THE EPIPHANY SWIMMING HAVE BEGUN

On the occasion of the great Christian feast of Epiphany, the Municipality of Sokolac and a group of enthusiasts will organize a swim for the Holy Cross in the Bioštica River, in the village of Knežina near Sokolac, on January 19th.

The Holy Divine Liturgy will be held at the Monastery of the Most Holy Theotokos in Knežina, starting at 09:00 AM, followed by a procession of participants from the monastery to the river where the consecration of the water and the swimming itself will take place.

This is the fourth consecutive swim for the Holy Cross in the territory of the Municipality of Sokolac. One of the organizers of the event, Miroslav Nešković, highlighted that over 30 swimmers from Sokolac and the region are expected to participate. The Mayor of Sokolac, Milovan Bjelica, expressed his satisfaction that this year's swim for the Holy Cross will be held again, with the local administration assisting in the registration of participants, engagement of the local Health Center, and other services whose presence is necessary.
