DERVENTA TO CHOOSE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SLAVA BREAD ON AUGUST 28

Honoring tradition and customs, and in celebration of the Feast of the Assumption and Derventa City Day, the town of Derventa will once again host the selection of the most beautifully decorated slava bread (slavski kolač) on August 28.

The Derventa Tourist Organization invites hardworking women—the keepers of tradition—to showcase their skills and creativity in preserving this cherished cultural practice.

"Dear fellow citizens, register your bread and show your talent in its preparation and decoration," the organization announced.

Both individuals and legal entities are eligible to participate.

Participants are required to bring their slavski kolač to the premises of the "Branko Radičević" National Library in Derventa by 8:00 AM on August 28.

A five-member jury will evaluate the entries on the same day and select the most beautiful slava bread, which will be served at the city’s official krsna slava celebration. The winning baker will also receive a special award.
