"WINE FINE" UNDER THE PLANE TREES: A CELEBRATION OF TRADITION, FRIENDSHIP, AND PASSION

The southernmost city of Republika Srpska is preparing to host a unique celebration of hedonism on May 3 — Wine Fine Trebinje 2025 — set to take place at the city’s Trg Slobode (Freedom Square).

"WINE FINE" UNDER THE PLANE TREES: A CELEBRATION OF TRADITION, FRIENDSHIP, AND PASSION

This will be the second edition of the international festival dedicated to wine, brandy, food, and art, drawing enthusiasts and professionals from across the region.

The day’s program begins at 11:00 a.m. at the Aperitivo Bar & Shop distillery in Zasad Polje, nestled among the vineyards of the Vukoje Winery. There, attendees will enjoy the presentation of Željko Garmaz’s book “Zbogom brljama”, a compelling guide through the world of traditional domestic brandies. A specialized workshop titled “The Production of Single-Varietal Grape Brandies” will follow.

From 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., the festival shifts to Trg Slobode, where wineries and distilleries participating in the event will showcase their finest offerings to the public.

“Wine runs through the history of Trebinje, one of the sunniest cities in the Balkans, boasting over 260 sunny days per year. This makes it an ideal place for cultivating grapevines,” organizers stated. “It’s no coincidence that Wine Fine is held right here — in the heart of the Herzegovina wine region, famous for its indigenous varieties like žilavka and blatina.”

Organizers emphasize that this festival is more than just an event — it’s a vibrant fusion of tradition, friendship, and a shared passion for wine.
