THE 149TH NEVESINJE OLYMPIAD BEGINS

The 149th Nevesinje Olympiad, the oldest sports and cultural event in the Republic of Srpska, has officially begun with the raising of the Olympic flag at the square in front of the "Nevesinjka" Sports Hall in Nevesinje.

This event features sports, cultural, chivalric, and tourism dimensions. This year’s Olympiad boasts the most disciplines and a record-breaking prize fund.

The main event, featuring chivalric disciplines and traditional horse races, will be held at Bratački Lug, near Nevesinje, on August 18.

Competitors, guests, and all curious visitors who come to Nevesinje at the beginning of August can expect a variety of sports, cultural, and tourist activities. The top Olympians will compete for a prize fund of 50,000 KM.

During the first week of the Olympiad, tennis and chess competitions are scheduled, while the youngest participants will find their disciplines in the Small Olympiad.

The event is organized by the Municipality of Nevesinje, under the patronage of the Government of Srpska.
