An exhibition featuring military and police artifacts and documents from the 1992-1995 period, covering the Sarajevo-Romanija region, has been opened in the premises of the City Administration in East Sarajevo.
Part of the equipment, uniforms, and exhibits on display belonged to fallen Serbian fighters, as well as demobilized members of the military and police forces.
The author of the exhibition, collector Aleksandar Samardzija from East Sarajevo, has spent the past eight years collecting military and police gear, uniforms, and documents from the Defense and Patriotic War across the Republic of Srpska.
The Mayor of East Sarajevo, Ljubiša Ćosić, expressed his gratitude to Samardzija for his effort and dedication and announced the possibility of opening a museum dedicated to the Defense and Patriotic War in East Sarajevo.
"I am confident that we will have the opportunity to establish a museum here in East Sarajevo. When I say here, I mean in Pale, the place where we are working on creating and, if possible, opening a museum of the Defense and Patriotic War, where some of these exhibits, whether replicas or originals, will find their place," said Ćosić.
Ćosić also emphasized that the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Srpska in 1992 was a crucial moment in the creation of the Republic of Srpska.
