The association "Kastrum na Uni" proudly highlights the achievements of Magdalena Miljatović, a participant in their Podgrmeč embroidery workshop. Magdalena had the honor of showcasing her skills on a global stage in China during the 17th World Chinese Language Competition for High School Students, known as the "Chinese Bridge."
"This year, I had the opportunity to travel to China and compete in the World Chinese Language Competition for high school students. I was proud to represent my country at such a significant event," shared Magdalena.
The initial days in China were spent exploring the cultural landmarks of Beijing. The group then traveled to Tianjin, where they enjoyed a variety of activities, including a river cruise along Haihe, a riverside concert, and visits to museums and prestigious schools.
During the competition itself, Magdalena delivered a speech about herself and her homeland, aiming to represent her country in the best possible light. Her talent presentation focused on traditional Podgrmeč embroidery. "My idea was to showcase the connection between my country and China—not linked through the Silk Road, but through a single silk thread that touched my homeland and left its mark through embroidery," said Magdalena.
Her unique presentation not only highlighted a rich cultural tradition but also bridged a symbolic connection between two distant lands.
