ETHNO SONG FESTIVAL IN DERVENTA ON SEPTEMBER 13 AND 14

The Serbian Cultural and Artistic Society "Derventa" will host the 9th Ethno Song Festival on September 13 and 14, bringing together performers from Republika Srpska and the wider region.

ETHNO SONG FESTIVAL IN DERVENTA ON SEPTEMBER 13 AND 14

The festival is organized to mark the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom, and the National Flag, a holiday of great cultural and historical significance.

The event is held under the patronage of the President of Republika Srpska, the Government of Republika Srpska, and the City of Derventa.

The festival program begins on Saturday, September 13, with a concert featuring traditional vocal groups at the Orthodox Square in Derventa, starting at 7:00 PM.

On Sunday, September 14, a workshop on traditional singing will be held, giving the festival an important educational aspect in addition to its cultural value.

Ethno Group "Srpski Dom" from Sremska Mitrovica (Serbia)

Vocal-instrumental Ethno Ensemble "Đurđevak" from Bobota (Croatia)

Ethno Singing Group "Bosiljak" from Brčko

Singing Society "Vida" from Modriča

Male Singing Group of KUD "Milan Egić" from Brezičani

Male Singing Group "Association for the Preservation of Tradition" from Prijedor

Female Singing Group of SKUD "Derventa" from Derventa

A special contribution to this year’s program will be made by M.A. Bojana Nikolić Petričković, an ethnomusicologist and vocal coach, who will lead the traditional singing workshop and participate in the festival program.

The Ethno Song Festival in Derventa has become a recognized cultural event that celebrates and preserves the rich musical and cultural heritage of the Serbian people, fostering community, tradition, and unity through song.
