INCREASE IN TOURIST ARRIVALS TO THE REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA IN THE FIRST TEN MONTHS

A total of 442,353 tourists visited the Republic of Srpska during the first ten months of this year, generating 1,039,334 overnight stays, which represents an increase of 4.6 percent in arrivals and 2.5 percent in overnight stays compared to last year, the Tourism Organization of Srpska told Srna.

Sanela Šimun, Public Relations Associate at the organization, stated that mountain destinations recorded a 7.5 percent increase in overnight stays, spa resorts an increase of 2.4 percent, and destinations with attractive features such as climate, cultural and historical sites, rivers, and lakes recorded a 1 percent growth.

She noted that visitors stayed an average of 2.4 days during the first seven months of this year.

"As in previous years, aside from domestic tourists, the highest number of visits came from Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, and Montenegro, while among other countries the most notable were Turkey, Germany, Austria, China, and Italy," Šimun said.

She added that domestic tourists achieved the highest number of overnight stays in spa resorts, followed by destinations with attractive features, mountain areas, and other locations that do not fall into any of the listed categories but offer accommodation facilities.

"Foreign tourists recorded the highest number of overnight stays in other tourist destinations, followed by spa resorts and mountain areas," Šimun stated.
