For the first time, wines from our country can be enjoyed at one of the most prestigious restaurants in central Tokyo.
Although wines from Bosnia and Herzegovina have been
exported to Japan since January 2014, this marks a significant achievement
given the fierce competition in this market.
Thanks to the efforts of Shigehiko Nishihama, a
representative of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of Bosnia and
Herzegovina (FIPA) in Japan, Bosnian wine can now be tasted at the renowned
restaurant "Maroko," located in the OTE-MACHI area of central Tokyo.
The selected wines are Vranac from the Tvrdoš Monastery near Trebinje and Žilavka from Nuić Vineyards in Ljubuški.
Nishihama promoted our wines to well-known restaurants in
Tokyo and negotiated their sale for a long time. Finally, on July 12, 2024, he
was informed that the famous restaurant decided to serve these two types of
wine to its guests.
