The book "Records of Time and People from the Derventa Region" by author Violeta Kovačević will be officially presented to the public on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 7:00 PM in the main hall of the “Branko Radičević” Public Library in Derventa.
According to the organizers, the book includes over 100 photographs and mentions more than 1,300 names of individuals who played a significant role in the history of Derventa, from the arrival of the Ottomans and the founding of the early settlements of Donja and Gornja Ukrina, up until the end of the First World War.
Violeta Kovačević, a native of Derventa, previously worked at the Institute for Architecture and Urbanism at the Faculty of Architecture in Sarajevo, as well as at the Institute for the Protection of Monuments of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where she had the opportunity to conduct in-depth research on the town’s rich historical and cultural heritage.
The book stands as a valuable tribute to the people and events that shaped Derventa’s past, offering readers a deep and detailed insight into the region’s historical identity.
