BANJA LUKA READY FOR THE BIGGEST CHILDREN'S MUSIC FESTIVAL IN SOUTHEAST EUROPE

This year, 17 performers from seven countries and 13 cities will take the stage at the 31st International Đurđevdan Children's Song Festival. Known for its rich tradition and dedication to nurturing young musical talent, the festival continues to raise the bar with every edition.

All of this year’s songs are original, modern, and stylistically diverse. From lively rock ‘n’ roll tunes to classic pop ballads, the festival promises something for every taste. Audiences will also hear innovative arrangements, environmentally-themed messages, and a blend of ethno-pop sounds—all crafted by the top composers of children’s music. The lyrics, tailored specifically for young performers, were written by leading lyricists, while acclaimed arrangers have ensured the songs meet the production standards of major regional and global hits.

In keeping with its mission to stay aligned with modern trends and technology, the 2024 Đurđevdan Festival embraces the theme of "artificial intelligence in the hands of children." This unique concept will bring a fresh and exciting perspective to this beloved event.

The festival will be hosted by popular singer Lena Kovačević, joined by a surprise co-host, adding to the anticipation of the evening.

A total of 16 new songs—including one duet—will be performed by 14 girls and three boys on May 10th, aiming to inspire their peers and entertain generations who grew up with this cherished festival.

This year’s performers, known as the Đurđevdan Stars, will have the chance to shine in a professional studio setting, with creative stage design and striking visual effects enhancing their performances on the big stage.

For those who cannot attend in person, the event will be broadcast live on Radio-Television of Republika Srpska and streamed online at rtrs.tv starting at 5:00 PM on May 10th.
