TREBINJE REPRESENTS HERZEGOVINA IN VIENNA: CULTURE, BUSINESS, AND TRADITION

Representatives of the City of Trebinje and its institutions, accompanied by 15 of the best high school students, members of the GKUD "Alat" ensemble, and media representatives, are visiting Austria to participate in the event "Days of Herzegovina in Vienna."

Slađana Skočajić, head of the Department of Culture in the city administration, emphasized that this event is an opportunity to showcase the potentials of Trebinje and Herzegovina in this European country and to attract interest from businesspeople for cooperation.

Skočajić, along with Miljan Vuković, director of the Trebinje Cultural Center, and Milosava Supić Vuković, director of the National Library, which preserves the legacy of Jovan Dučić, is attending the opening of the exhibition "Šantić and Dučić" tonight. The exhibition is organized by Mostar’s "Prosvjeta" association.

"A Business Forum, where projects from Trebinje—ranging from infrastructure to cultural and family-oriented projects—will be presented, is scheduled for tomorrow. Nedjeljko Lambeta, director of the Trebinje Hospital, will present the largest project, the new hospital in Trebinje. At the food exhibition, Hercegovačka Kuća will showcase regional delicacies, followed by 'Herzegovinian Evening,' featuring representatives from Republika Srpska and the Serbian community in Austria. Austrian entrepreneurs, as well as Austria's ambassador and cultural attaché, are expected to attend these events," she stated.

Skočajić added that on Friday, audiences in Vienna will have the chance to see a play performed by Trebinje high school students titled "Welcome, Honored Wedding Guests."

On Saturday, the Trebinje delegation will be joined by the GKUD "Alat" ensemble in Graz, performing as part of a New Year’s concert. The program will also feature young guslar Aleksa Ćurić, who will demonstrate his skill on the ancient instrument both in Vienna and Graz.

The initiator and organizer of the "Days of Herzegovina in Vienna" event is Mladen Filipović, head of the Republika Srpska Representation Office in Austria. In addition to Trebinje, delegations from Bileća and Nevesinje are also expected in Vienna, while other Herzegovinian municipalities will be represented through promotional materials showcasing their regions.
