This year’s event dedicated to animated film, "Animacikl," will be held from May 30 to June 2, featuring animation students from art academies in Banja Luka, Zagreb, Nova Gorica, Sofia, Skopje, and Belgrade.
The aim of Animacikl is to offer participants and visitors
an insight into the entire process of creating animated films. Animation
students from different countries will be tasked with creating short animated
films in mixed teams over two days. The best teams and individuals will be
awarded, and the audience will have the opportunity to glimpse into the
students' workspaces to understand the process of making an animated film –
stated the event organizers.
The organizers further explain that this event provides a fantastic opportunity for students to simulate the reality of a professional animator's career, including working under pressure and collaborating within a team. This will better prepare students for future projects, including their final thesis and other professional obligations.
The accompanying program includes screenings of student animated short films, a group exhibition, a master class by Professor Mladen Đukić from the Academy of Arts in Banja Luka and Professor Daniel Šuljić from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, who is also the artistic director of one of the most significant animation festivals, "Animafest," and an award-winning author. Additionally, there will be a fantastic performance called "Animation on Wheels" on the festival's closing day, June 2, in Petar Kočić Park, intended for school-aged children – the organizers add.
