RECIPIENTS OF THE ST. SAVA AWARD ANNOUNCED IN THE REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA

Based on the Public Call of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Srpska, the recipients of the St. Sava Award for the 2025/2026 working year and the 2024/2025 school year have been selected.

This prestigious recognition has been awarded to outstanding education professionals from preschool institutions, primary and secondary schools across the Republic of Srpska, who have distinguished themselves through their work, dedication and achievements in advancing education and upbringing.

Among the award recipients are preschool teachers, classroom and subject teachers, as well as professional associates, once again confirming that the quality of education is built on the joint efforts of all participants in the educational system, the Ministry of Education and Culture announced.

This year’s recipients of the St. Sava Award are:

Olivera Janjić, preschool teacher, Public Institution Center for Preschool Education and Care, Banja Luka;

Mirjana Vujović, preschool teacher, Public Institution for Preschool Education and Care “Naša radost”, Trebinje;

Irena Radić, mathematics teacher, Public Primary School “Aleksa Šantić”, Banja Luka;

Dijana Bogdanović, Serbian language and literature teacher, Public Primary School “Zmaj Jova Jovanović”, Banja Luka;

Oksana Lunić, geography teacher, Public Primary School “Holandija”, Slatina;

Milena Štula, classroom teacher, Public Primary School “Sveti Sava”, Banja Luka;

Branka Kovačević, professional associate, Public Catering and Economics School, Prijedor;

Pajo Jovanović, practical training teacher, Public Electrotechnical School “Nikola Tesla”, Banja Luka;

Vedrana Mijović Pantelić, Serbian language and literature teacher, Public Secondary School “28. juni”, East Novo Sarajevo.

The St. Sava Award consists of a St. Sava Charter and a monetary prize. The awards will be presented by the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Srpska. The award ceremony will be held on January 26, 2026, at 6:00 PM, at the Children’s Theatre of the Republic of Srpska in Banja Luka.

Traditionally awarded in honor of Saint Sava, the St. Sava Award symbolizes respect for knowledge, education and the educational role of teachers, and represents a strong incentive for all those who work daily on the education and upbringing of younger generations, Mondo reports.
