Bora Đorđević, the frontman of the band Riblja Čorba, passed away at the age of 72.
During his rich career, he performed at so many concerts that they could hardly be counted, with the last one being in Šamac on July 1st this year.
Just ten days earlier, he performed at the Kastel Fortress in Banja Luka. The summer stage was packed with concertgoers, and it was only later revealed that this would be his last performance in the city on the Vrbas River.
That night will forever be remembered as a moment that showcased the greatness of this lyricist and musician, filled with emotion.
The five minutes he performed Lutka sa naslovne strane were enough for everyone present to feel the connection between his art and the respect and admiration of the audience.
Bora occasionally spoke a few words, while the audience continued the lyrics.
He would say, "Ti si..." (You are...), and the audience would in unison continue, "savršentvo bez mane..." (perfection without flaw...). And so the entire song was sung with Bora uttering only a few words.
By that time, his illness had already taken its toll, so Bora spent the entire concert sitting, but the atmosphere was electric. His songs, timeless hits, carried a power that the audience could feel, and everyone sang along with him.
This wasn’t just a concert. As we now know, it was a farewell. But it also served as a testament to the impact Bora left on generations.
