The fourth edition of the Trebinje Jazz Festival 2025 will take place from August 24 to 28 across several venues in the scenic city of Trebinje, nestled beneath Mount Leotar.
According to the Cultural Center of Trebinje, the event represents a unique musical gathering that brings together top-tier artists and an audience hungry for authentic music.
The festival will open with the renowned artist Darko Rundek, a musician, poet, playwright, and one of the most distinctive figures to emerge from the former Yugoslav music scene. His artistic evolution—from Haustor, through Cargo Orchestra, to his current acoustic ensembles—reflects a constantly transforming artist who never loses his unmistakable essence.
For this occasion, Rundek will perform with his Eko Quartet, an intimate and acoustic formation featuring:
Darko Rundek – vocals and guitar
Miro Manojlović – vibraphone and percussion
Ana Kovačić – saxophone and synth
Igor Pavlica – trumpet
“This quartet does not perform conventional jazz, but it brings something even closer to its spirit: freedom of expression, improvisation, poetic depth, and a strong connection with the audience. Their performances are rich in sonic textures, rhythm, and space for surprise,” stated the Cultural Center.
They emphasized that this is not just a concert but a theatrical experience where song, silence, voice, dissonance, and whisper unite into a one-of-a-kind artistic expression.
“In the height of summer, Trebinje becomes a center of musical freedom, improvisation, and masterful interpretation. This year's carefully curated program brings together legends, contemporary virtuosos, and fresh original energy. The stages of our city will host not just those who play jazz—but those who live it,” organizers concluded.
The Trebinje Jazz Festival is organized by the Cultural Center Trebinje, with support from the City of Trebinje and the Ministry of Education and Culture of Republika Srpska.
