The city of Gradiška will once again become the center of theatre art in Republika Srpska this May, as the fourth edition of the “Ljubica” festival takes place from May 16 to 21, bringing a rich program and some of the finest productions from the domestic and regional theatre scene.
Visitors can expect six days of top-quality
performances, meetings with artists, workshops and accompanying cultural
events, while the festival will officially open with the premiere of “Sirena i
Viktorija” performed by the Gradiška City Theatre, adapted by Željko Stjepanović.
The festival repertoire will also feature
“Behind Those Eyes” by the “Jazavac” City Theatre from Banja Luka, based on a
text by Nebojša Ilić, followed by “Odysseus – The Creation of a Hero” by the
“Semberija” City Theatre, as well as “Everything We Could Not Say” by Prijedor
Theatre, written by Marko Dukić.
Special attention is expected for the play
“Mrs. Olga”, created as a co-production between the National Theatre of
Republika Srpska and the National Theatre in Belgrade.
As part of the festival’s non-competitive program, the audience will also have the opportunity to enjoy the hit play “To kad uvati ne pušta” from Zvezdara Theatre in Belgrade, starring renowned actor Mima Karadžić
Tickets for the competition performances are
priced at 10 BAM, while tickets for the special guest performance cost 20 BAM.
Theatre lovers can also purchase a package ticket for five performances at the
price of 40 BAM.
In addition to the main program, organizers
have prepared round tables, workshops, and performances for children, which
will be held in local cultural centers.
The “Ljubica” festival once again confirms
Gradiška’s important place on the cultural map of Republika Srpska, bringing
together theatre artists and audiences from across the region.
