The town of Bileća will host the “Bileća Cultural Summer 2026” during May, June, July and August, offering a multi-month cultural spectacle that will bring together tradition, art and community spirit through a variety of events designed for all generations.
This
year’s edition of the festival will be dedicated to two major anniversaries –
the 170th anniversary of the birth of Nikola Tesla and the 50th anniversary of
the legendary rock band Galija, which will perform as part of the programme.
Throughout
the summer, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy theatre performances,
concerts, literary evenings, film screenings, exhibitions and international
guest appearances. Organizers have announced a unique blend of contemporary art
and the rich cultural heritage of Herzegovina.
The programme will begin in May with events dedicated to tradition and heritage, while June will focus on stage performances and national spirit.
July will
feature events under the slogan “Bileća Beyond Borders”, while August will
bring festivals and the popular “Lipa Fest”.
The
central event of the manifestation will be the Vidovdan Assembly, scheduled for
June 27 and 28, featuring a major concert and cultural spectacle. Organizers
emphasize that special attention will be given to humanitarian work, the
promotion of Bileća, and the preservation of tradition through international
festivals and cooperation with cultural institutions.
The
entire manifestation will be held under the slogan: “A summer you don’t just
watch – you experience.”
