JUBILEE 20TH INTERNATIONAL AMATEUR THEATRE FESTIVAL TO BE HELD IN LAKTAŠI

The “Center for Culture and Education” and the “Daske” Theatre from Laktaši are organizing the Jubilee 20th International Amateur Theatre Festival Laktaši 2025, which will officially open on June 19 at 8:00 PM in the main hall of this cultural institution.

The opening night will feature the premiere of the play “The Choosy Bride” (“Izbiračica”) performed by the Daske Drama Studio, based on the text by Kosta Trifković and directed by Ognjen Todorović.

This year’s festival will run from June 19 to 22, with two performances scheduled daily at 7:00 PM and 8:30 PM, except on Sunday when only one performance will be held at 7:00 PM. All plays will take place in the main hall of the Center for Culture and Education in Laktaši.

The festival has a competitive character, and alongside the hosts, it will feature theatre groups from Novi Grad, Kragujevac, Ub, Pećinci, and Kakanj.

In the recreational section of the program for children, the play “Time for a Fairy Tale” will be performed by the “Lutkajuće pozorište” (Puppet Theatre) from Banja Luka, starring actors Saša Terzić and Dragana Ilić.

Each festival evening will conclude with a roundtable discussion moderated by Prof. Dr. Ljiljana Čekić, a theatre scholar and actress at the National Theatre of Republika Srpska.

The jury will consist of Mario Ćulum, MA in Dramaturgy, Božana Kukilo, actress, and Svjetlana Đurić, dramaturge.

As always, entrance to all performances is free of charge.
