INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN'S FESTIVAL "CHILDREN IN PRESERVING FOLK TRADITION" OPENS IN BILEĆA

The International Children's Festival "Children in Preserving Folk Tradition", which was ceremoniously opened today in Bileća, is not only a celebration of children's creativity but also a festival of unity, love, and the spiritual strength of the Serbian people, said Đorđe Milićević, Minister without portfolio in the Government of Serbia responsible for the diaspora.

“In the songs and dances of these children lives the spirit of Serbia and Republika Srpska — a spirit that connects us regardless of borders,” Milićević said at the festival’s opening ceremony.

He emphasized that a nation which does not forget its roots always knows its path, adding that the Government of Serbia will continue to support cultural projects and events that preserve the unity of the Serbian people, their tradition, and identity.

The minister also underlined that Serbia will always stand by its people in Republika Srpska, and that every initiative aimed at preserving unity, spirituality, and culture will have the support of the state.

“The preservation of tradition and cultural identity is a shared responsibility of all who believe in the strength and future of the Serbian people,” Milićević said.

“Serbia and Republika Srpska share one heart — the heart of their people. That heart beats in every child who proudly dances, sings, and nurtures the values that have united us for centuries. Children are our greatest pride, because in them live both the future and the eternity of our nation,” he added.

This year’s festival features 18 cultural and artistic societies, bringing together more than 600 children and young participants.
