COMPETITION ANNOUNCED FOR THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CYRILLIC HANDWRITING

BANJA LUKA – The Museum of the Republic of Srpska has announced a competition for the most beautiful Cyrillic handwriting and the best calligraphic artwork, with a significantly increased prize fund of 2,250 KM.

COMPETITION ANNOUNCED FOR THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CYRILLIC HANDWRITING

The project is supported by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Srpska and the City of Banja Luka.

To participate in the competition, entrants must handwrite the poem “I opet mi duša sve o tebi sanja” (“And My Soul Still Dreams Only of You”) by Aleksa Šantić and send their work to the following address:

Museum of the Republic of Srpska, Đure Daničića 1, 78 000 Banja Luka,

with the note “Srce piše ćirilicu” (“The Heart Writes in Cyrillic”).

The deadline for submissions is November 15, 2025.

The winners will be announced and awarded during the Muzejski dani ćirilice (“Museum Days of Cyrillic”) event at the Museum of the Republic of Srpska in Banja Luka. Prizes must be collected in person.

On the same day, the museum will host an exhibition of the submitted works, giving visitors the opportunity to vote for their favorite piece. The Audience Award will be presented to the author whose exhibited work receives the most visitor votes, provided they have not already received one of the main monetary awards.

This cultural initiative aims to promote the beauty of Cyrillic script, celebrate artistic handwriting, and inspire both young and adult participants to preserve and cherish the traditional alphabet of the Serbian language.
