If you are looking for rest for your eyes, lungs, and mind, or if you enjoy fishing and fly-fishing, head to the northwestern part of Republic of Srpska and visit Ribnik. The settlement was built on the left bank of the river of the same name, not far from its spring. This is exactly what famous TV host and journalist Jovan Memedović recently did.
“As the city crowds and noise began, I had no other choice but to go fishing. My destination was the Ribnik River in Bosnia, well known for its fly-fishing waters, crystal-clear water, and the large number of foreign visitors who come here,” Memedović wrote on the profile of his TV show Sasvim prirodno.
Memedović also announced an episode filmed at this very location.
“Bistro na vodi is one completely ‘ordinary’ episode filled with pure water, untouched nature, native fish species, and people who cannot imagine life without all of it,” the post says.
Memedović previously stated that if he were to live in Republic of Srpska, he would choose Ribnik.
Rural tourism is highly developed in this area thanks to its preserved nature, clean air, unpolluted springs, streams and rivers, as well as its rich flora and fauna.
A stay in Ribnik offers opportunities for walking, recreation, traditional sports, excursions to nearby caves, mountain peaks, viewpoints, springs and waterfalls, as well as hunting, fishing, hiking, and picking wild forest fruits, mushrooms, and medicinal herbs.
