Foča native Zoran Vukadinović has been intertwined with the mountains since birth, and even in his eighth decade of life, thanks to his almost daily treks to mountain peaks, he boasts a youthful appearance and vitality.
He was born 72 years ago in the village of Bunovi, specifically in the hamlet of Ravne Njive, at the foot of Crni vrh, a mountain rising above Foča itself.
This member of the Mountaineering Society "Zelengora" recounts that, as a child from the countryside, the mountains became dear to his heart from an early age, and his love for nature was born from the very way of life in the village and growing up on the slopes of Crni vrh and the surrounding mountains of Slabića and Pliješa.
His dedication to the mountains was formalized in 1974 when he first received his mountaineering book, and this year he celebrates a milestone of five decades of mountaineering.
While he was younger, he aspired to "conquer" the highest peaks, but today the urge to conquer is not important to him. In his later years, he strives to walk and spend more time in nature, regardless of the altitude.
He emphasizes that the three key words in mountaineering are love, will, and fitness.
