A special edition postage stamp titled "Young Athletes", featuring European and World boxing champion Sara Ćirković, was officially presented today at the "Obilić" Boxing Club in Zvornik.
The General Director of Pošte Srpske, Miladin Radović, handed over the commemorative stamps to Sara Ćirković and her coach, Mirko Ždralo. The stamp honors Ćirković’s outstanding achievements in the sport and celebrates her as a symbol of youth excellence in Republika Srpska and beyond.
Expressing her gratitude, Ćirković stated that appearing on a postage stamp is not only a great honor but also an additional motivation for her to continue striving for excellence in boxing. "This stamp is proof that I am on the right path," she said.
Director Radović emphasized that Sara’s exceptional sports achievements fully justify her being featured on the stamp, which will serve as a global ambassador for the country as it travels the world through letters and correspondence.
The stamp was issued in a print run of 8,000 copies and has a face value of 1.20 KM.
Radović expressed hope that the "Obilić" Boxing Club, where Sara trains, will see the release of future stamps featuring other successful athletes from the club. "Pošte Srpske recognizes and celebrates the achievements of our young athletes, underlining the importance of sports and the inspiration young people like Sara provide," he added.
Coach Mirko Ždralo highlighted Ćirković's historic contributions to boxing in both Republika Srpska and Serbia. He noted that she became the European youth champion and went on to win the world youth championship—becoming the first athlete in Serbian history to do so.
Her impressive streak continued as she went on to win back-to-back European championships, the senior world championship, and became the first woman in Serbia to earn a world medal and win the IBA professional belt. Most recently, she qualified for the Paris Olympic Games, achieving all of this by the age of 21.
The stamp presentation ceremony was attended by Mitar Lazić, Assistant Minister for Sports of Republika Srpska, Zoran Rašljić, President of the Boxing Federation of Republika Srpska, representatives of Pošte Srpske, officials from the city of Zvornik and the municipality of Bratunac, as well as members of the "Obilić" Boxing Club's management.
