HOW NEVA "CONVINCED" HER PARENTS TO CREATE A CARTOON FOR HER

Milena and Neven Đenadija, parents of four from Kostajnica, have turned their five-year-old daughter Neva's imagination into an animated series titled Neva Without Borders. The first episode, Neva and the Magical World of Nikola Tesla, premiered on social media, captivating audiences with its educational and entertaining content.

Neven Đenadija told Srna News Agency that he and his wife found inspiration in their daughter Neva’s unique personality, creativity, and curiosity.

"We wanted to create a cartoon that resonates with today’s children—something educational yet engaging," he explained.

The stories and adventures in the series blend childhood imagination with real historical facts. According to Đenadija, this is an excellent way to introduce young audiences to great scientists, their inventions, and accomplishments, while also sparking their interest in meaningful and educational topics.

A Healthy and Entertaining Alternative

Neven and Milena, dissatisfied with the content available for young children today, decided to create something that is both informative and enjoyable for their kids.

"I believe every parent sees their children as a source of inspiration for work, ambition, and life itself. Our Neva, as the eldest, with her endless questions, mischief, and character, inspired us to embark on this journey," Đenadija said.

The Tesla Episode: Where It All Began

The first episode of Neva Without Borders was created with the help of artificial intelligence, with the script written by Neva’s parents.

"We chose Nikola Tesla for the first episode because Neva was fascinated by him. I felt it was the right choice, especially since I received an award from the Tesla Foundation in 2016. I knew that this was the direction we had to take," đenadija stated.

Expanding the Series

The upcoming episodes will introduce other notable scientists and famous figures, including both local and international personalities. The series will also explore historical events, different countries, cultural heritage, and more.

According to Đenadija, Neva Without Borders is the first animated film of its kind in the region. It is currently available in both Serbian and English, with plans to expand to Russian and Spanish versions in the future.

With this innovative project, Neven and Milena Đenadija hope to inspire children to explore the world through the lens of curiosity and knowledge—just like their daughter Neva.
