Red Star Belgrade’s best footballer for 2025, as voted by his teammates, is experienced midfielder Rade Krunić, a native of Foča.
Krunić stood out throughout the year thanks to his exceptional football intelligence, excellent vision, passing accuracy and the ability to make the right decision in crucial moments. Operating in midfield, he provided the perfect balance between defense and attack, often taking responsibility during the most demanding phases of matches.
During the 2025 season, Krunić was one of Red Star’s key players, a true leader in the dressing room and an extension of the coaching staff on the pitch. His experience at the highest level of European football brought additional stability to the team, especially in important domestic and international fixtures.
Teammates recognized him as a player they could always rely on, as well as a professional who sets high standards through his work ethic and behavior.
Krunić made a significant contribution to Red Star’s fifth consecutive domestic double. In the current season, he recorded 21 appearances, scoring four goals and providing one assist.
Particularly memorable were his goals in the third round of the UEFA Champions League qualifiers against Lech, as well as his strike against Stuttgart in Europe’s elite competition during the previous season.
While his statistics underline his importance, Krunić’s influence extended far beyond numbers, with many of his contributions proving decisive despite not always being reflected on the scoresheet.
Born in 1993 in Foča, Rade Krunić took his first football steps at FK Sutjeska. He made history as the first player from Foča to win the Italian Scudetto, achieving the feat with AC Milan in 2023.
