Mlađen Samardžić from the “Maraton” Athletics Club in Brčko and Milica Tomašević from Belgrade’s “Crvena Zvezda” emerged as winners of this year’s “Derventa Ten.”
In the five-kilometer race, the fastest was Uroš Gutić from the “Borac” Athletics Club, while in the women’s category victory went to Marija Stambolić from OMK Belgrade.
The event gathered around 200 competitors from Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and Hungary, while nearly 300 children took part in school races.
“Preparations for the race lasted two to three months. The ‘Derventa Ten’ is much more demanding compared to races in other cities where the track is flat, but that’s what makes our race unique,” said Dalibor Vrhovac from AK “Derventa.”
The race, organized by the “Derventa” Athletics Club and the City Tourist Organization, was officially opened by Deputy Mayor Slaven Gojković.
“This is yet another sports event in our city, one of many. The City Administration, led by the Mayor, fully supports projects like this, which promote healthy living, encourage sports activities, and attract young people to a healthier lifestyle,” emphasized Gojković.
The competition, which also counted toward the Championship of Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 10-kilometer road race, was attended by the President of the Athletics Federation of RS and BiH, Duško Ivičić.
