In Herceg Novi, the traditional athletics event, the 10th Novska Skalinada, was held.
This unique race requires participants to conquer over 646 steps, spread over a distance of 1.2 kilometers, with an elevation difference of 147 meters. It's a street race, as Herceg Novi locals describe it – through the town's stairs, from the Škver port to the Španjola fortress.
The "Skalinada" gathered 169 competitors, among them was the Sokolac veteran Pero Mijatović, who competed in the M 60 – 69 category and secured the fifth place with a time of 12 minutes and 50 seconds.
In this competition, the best was the local competitor Negovan Stanković, born in 1962, who completed the 646 steps in an outstanding time of 9 minutes and 58 seconds.
