The invitation is open to everyone who can use their talent, energy, and creativity to stop passersby in their tracks and transform an ordinary street into a place of joy, surprise, and art.

A Call for Everyone Who Brings Streets to Life

Festival organizers are inviting street performers, as well as anyone who would like to become one for this special occasion, to apply and become part of this year’s event.

Participation is open to anyone who can capture the attention of passersby through voice, movement, color, music, or performance, bringing smiles and entertainment to audiences of all generations — whether they are local residents or visitors to the city.

Artists and groups are welcome regardless of gender, age, experience, or professional status, whether they are professionals or amateurs.

Potential participants include:

  • musicians and singers
  • actors and performers
  • dancers
  • painters
  • animators and entertainers

all other creatives who wish to bring city streets to life

Participants Expected from Across the Region

Organizers expect applications from individuals and groups from Banja Luka, other cities in Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as neighboring countries.

However, as stated in the public call, a larger number of places will be reserved for performers from Banja Luka and the surrounding area due to organizational and financial reasons, while a certain number of spots will also be planned for participants from other regions.

How to Apply

Applications should be submitted via email to:

📧 trotoart.bl@gmail.com

The application should include:

performer’s name and surname

name of the group or ensemble and number of members

a short description of the performer (how long they have been performing, what they perform, etc.)

type of performance (concert, performance art, etc.)

preferably at least one photo from a previous performance

Based on the received applications, the festival’s project team will select participants and create the detailed festival program.

📅 The deadline for applications is April 15, 2026, at 4:00 PM.

A Festival That Revived the City Streets

The “TrotoArt” Street Performers Festival is part of a series of events organized within the program “Banjaluka Spring 2026.”

The festival was first held in 2022, with the idea of bringing together artists who contribute to the vibrant cultural and entertainment life of the city through their creativity and dedication.

Over time, the festival has grown into a regional meeting point for artists and audiences, fostering the exchange of ideas, new collaborations, and a unique atmosphere in the heart of Banja Luka.

From Theatre to City Parks

In previous years, the festival took place in the city center, along the main pedestrian zone — from the National Theatre of Republika Srpska to Trg Krajine and Petar Kočić Park, across seven different locations.

In 2025, the program expanded to include new spaces such as:

  • the pedestrian zone in Gajeva Street
  • Park of Books
  • Liberation Park

For 2026, additional locations are planned, which means the festival will bring even more life and creativity to the city streets.

More Than 1,000 Performers in Four Years

Over the past four editions, “TrotoArt” has gathered more than 120 groups and individual artists, with over 1,000 performers taking to the streets of Banja Luka.

Judging by the growing interest, the fifth edition of the festival could bring the most lively summer yet.
