The restoration of two towers at the historic Kastel Fortress has been completed, Banja Luka Mayor Draško Stanivuković announced.
According
to Stanivuković, one of the restored towers will house a new tourist
information center, while the second tower will feature hospitality facilities
and a souvenir shop, with the aim of making Kastel a more vibrant and
attractive destination for both residents and visitors.
“This project was carried out in cooperation with the European Union,” Stanivuković said.
The
next phase of development at the fortress includes the adaptation of the old
artillery barracks, as well as the renovation of one of the fortress plateaus for
hosting various events and cultural manifestations.
Stanivuković
emphasized that the long-term vision is for Kastel to become an independent
cultural and tourism institution that will create new attractions and
contribute to the further development of culture and tourism in Banja Luka.
