The City of Banja Luka will officially launch tomorrow the fifth edition of the “For the Life of Women” campaign, organized throughout March to mark International Women's Day.
This initiative is more than a celebration of March 8 – it is a strong reminder of the true meaning of the date: the fight for dignity, equality and women’s rights in society.
Four Weeks, Four Key Themes
The campaign program is divided into four thematic units:
Through numerous activities at multiple locations, the city will become a space for dialogue, support and solidarity throughout March.
“The Most Inspiring Woman of Banja Luka” Award
A special segment of the campaign is the selection of “The Most Inspiring Woman of Banja Luka,” aimed at highlighting the role of women in education and sending a strong message about the importance of female educators.
Applications are open from February 26 to March 10 via an online form, while candidates can also be nominated by email by submitting basic information (full name, position, and contact details).
Panels, Performances and Preventive Check-ups
The campaign will feature street performances, panel discussions, expert talks and preventive medical check-ups with provided vouchers.
Special emphasis is placed on bringing support services closer to women and raising awareness about protection mechanisms against violence – with a clear message that no woman is alone.
Support from the Local Community
The campaign is implemented in cooperation with civil society organizations, including Fondacija Udružene žene, the Association “Ipak se okreće”, and the Health Center Banja Luka.
This year again, March in Banja Luka will be a month of solidarity, strength and shared responsibility to ensure that women’s voices are heard clearly and powerfully.
