A meeting was held at the City Administration with the team that worked on the report regarding the separation of Kastel into an independent institution.
This marks the beginning of a new chapter for this significant cultural heritage of Banja Luka. The Mayor's advisor, Milada Šukalo, emphasized that Kastel is entering a new era, which will include restoration, professional support, and the magic of legends, making it an even more attractive destination.
“A new era for Kastel begins through – restoration, expert support, and the magic of legends. We are building a cultural destination that will amaze visitors from all over the world,” said Šukalo, adding that the project through which the City of Banja Luka successfully applied and received 300,000 BAM for the reconstruction of two towers at Kastel was presented.
The Mayor's advisor highlighted that the goal of the city administration is to ensure professional support and cooperation in all future activities at Kastel. For this reason, representatives of relevant institutions such as the Tourist Organization, museums, and the Institute for the Protection of Monuments have been consulted to ensure a high-quality approach to the restoration and preservation of this cultural treasure.
In addition to the tower reconstruction, discussions also covered the introduction of new content, including the construction of a Temple of Love dedicated to the legend of Safikada. This story of love and devotion, as Šukalo pointed out, could be incredibly attractive to visitors from around the world, making Kastel an unmissable destination.
“Kastel will become a place where visitors will not only see but also feel the richness of culture, legends, and renovated spaces. This is just the beginning of a significant transformation,” concluded the Mayor's advisor.
