Just a few dozen meters from the recently opened "Book Park" in Banja Luka, a new oasis is taking shape—“Liberation Park,” being built on the site of the former Kozara cinema.

This location was initially slated for a high-rise building, but the city administration decided to turn it into a park instead.

The park is dedicated to the victims of the Great Treason Trial.

In addition to newly planted greenery, this space will feature pedestrian zones, an amphitheater, an open-air cinema, and a monument

"We have managed to achieve several significant victories here. From what was once a private plot of land, we now have a public city space; instead of a 14-story skyscraper, we are getting a park in the heart of Banja Luka. An added victory is that we have preserved the historical significance of this site," said Banja Luka Mayor Draško Stanivuković during a recent visit to the construction site, as reported by BLink.
