The largest city of the Republic of Srpska has gained a new five-kilometer promenade along the Vrbas River, following the successful completion of the section stretching from the former Banja Luka restaurant "Alibaba" to the Green Bridge.
Together with fellow citizens, Mayor Draško Stanivuković
took a walk along the new section of the promenade, followed by a concert by
Sergej Ćetković, held on the newly renovated banks of the Vrbas.
The five-kilometer-long section also includes three water intakes, essential for the efficient functioning of the Fire Brigade.
Work is underway on the development of the promenade along
the Kastel Fortress, extending one kilometer, which will provide Banja Luka
with a new ambiance, complemented by the recently installed lighting on the
fortress.
"Our plan is to continue the development of the Vrbas
Riverbanks from the City Bridge to the Venice Bridge, and then to the Rebrovac
Bridge, from where we will develop and connect the area all the way to the new
city park, which will be the largest in the country. These are the contours of
a new, better, and more beautiful Banja Luka," stated Stanivuković.
