In the Trapisti neighborhood, more precisely in Delibašino Selo, the construction of an adventure and dinosaur park is planned on an area of around 8,000 square meters. The complex will be divided into two sections – an adventure park and a themed dinosaur park intended for both entertainment and education.
According to the City Administration of Banja Luka, which spoke to Nezavisne novine, the project is designed as a themed park with both recreational and educational content.
“The location in Delibašino Selo has been assessed as suitable due to its size and the available space that allows the realization of such a project,” the City Administration stated.
Project documentation in progress
Project documentation is currently being prepared, and the total investment value of the project will be known once this phase is completed.
The Mayor of Banja Luka, Draško Stanivuković, previously announced the development of a new tourist and recreational zone in Trapisti, aimed at nature lovers and fans of adrenaline-filled activities. The adventure and dinosaur park will be part of the broader tourist offer of this area.
In the meantime, a company has been selected to prepare project documentation for access paths, lighting, and water supply for the future complex.
Public procurement details
According to information published on the City of Banja Luka’s website, within the public procurement process:
The preparation of urban planning requirements and the main project for access paths with lighting was offered at a price of 5,733 KM including VAT
The water supply project was estimated at 1,170 KM including VAT
The estimated value of the procurement was 10,000 KM without VAT for the paths and 2,000 KM without VAT for the water supply.
The contract was awarded to the company “Radis” from East Sarajevo, which offered the lowest price for both parts of the procurement.
Park location changed
It is worth recalling that the Dino Park was initially planned to be built on Banj Hill, and a tender for the preparation of project documentation had already been announced. However, after criticism from part of the public, the idea was abandoned and the new location was chosen in Delibašino Selo.
Eight life-sized dinosaurs planned
Last year, a tender was announced for the procurement of eight life-sized dinosaur models, for which the city planned to allocate 150,000 KM.
According to the technical specifications, the models will include mechanisms that allow them to:
produce sounds
move their heads
blink their eyes
wag their tails
They will also be designed for outdoor use and resistant to various weather conditions.
The planned dinosaur models include:
Tyrannosaurus rex
Brachiosaurus
Triceratops
Stegosaurus
Coloradisaurus
Dilophosaurus
Spinosaurus
Quetzalcoatlus.
