The Banja Luka-based Folk Dance and Song Ensemble “Veselin Masleša” is set to host the 10th JUBILEE EDITION OF THE SERBIAN FOLKLORE FESTIVAL on July 4 and 5 in the largest city of the Republic of Srpska.
"Despite various challenges in regular operations and organizing events, we proudly continue our tradition without interruption. This year, in celebration of the jubilee, we are offering the entire program free of charge to our fellow citizens," the organizers from ANIP “Veselin Masleša” announced.
The festival will open on Friday, July 4, with a vocal concert titled “Sing to Me, Sing, O Falcon”. The concert will feature the female vocal group from the Department of Ethnomusicology at the Academy of Arts in Banja Luka, along with the male and female vocal groups of ANIP “Veselin Masleša.” The performance will take place at the Youth Center Amphitheater starting at 6:00 PM.
The celebration continues on Saturday, July 5, with concerts by performing ensembles. The lineup includes:
CTKU “Kosta Abrašević” from Bačka Palanka (Serbia)
KUD “Brdo” from Kranj (Slovenia)
KUD “Kolovit” from Gradiška (Bosnia and Herzegovina)
and the host ensemble ANIP “Veselin Masleša”
These performances will be held in the park in front of the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, starting at 9:00 PM.
The festival promises a rich display of tradition, dance, and song — all in celebration of a decade of cultural preservation and community spirit.
