Nestled along the beautiful Vrbas River, Banja Luka is a city rich in tradition and natural beauty. One of its most beloved symbols is the dajak, a unique boat that has become an integral part of the city's identity. The tradition of dajak boat rides is a cherished aspect of this riverside city, especially during the summer festivities.

As part of the "Summer on the Vrbas" event, the traditional dajak boat race took place at Abacije beach, near the dajak dock. This race drew Banja Luka residents to the riverbanks and offered tourists a spectacular event to witness.

This year's senior category winner was once again Andrej Zamolo, securing his 26th title. Dragan Babić came in second, while Nebojša Tadić finished in third place.


In the women's category, Jelena Babić took first place, followed by Milka Đumić in second, and Katarina Kudrić in third.

The veteran category champion this year was Igor Kuzmanović, and the top three in the junior category were Darko Lazarević, Demijan Panić, and Stefan Jeličić.

The "Summer on the Vrbas" festival and the dajak boat race are a celebration of Banja Luka's rich heritage and the indomitable spirit of its people. The dajak remains a beloved symbol of this enchanting city, inviting everyone to experience the magic of the Vrbas River.
