Amidst cheerful singing, dancing, vibrant costumes, and laughter, the grand carnival procession from the National Theatre of Republika Srpska reached Krajina Square, where the central event of the third edition of the Banja Luka Carnival was held.
Numerous residents of Banja Luka and visitors had the opportunity to marvel at the beauty and diversity of costumes showcased by over 20 carnival groups. They also enjoyed a spectacular performance by Brazilian samba dancers and the band "Kubalkanika," alongside the "Mirror Crew" performance.
Organized by the Citizens' Association Center for Education for Work with Children and Youth "MIS Banja Luka" and the City of Banja Luka, the Mayor Draško Stanivuković attended the unique event. He expressed the city's increasing vibrancy and radiance, noting that Banja Luka displays its most beautiful spring colors during this period.
"For the third consecutive year, we host the Banja Luka Carnival, which progresses annually, attracting guests from numerous countries in the region, Europe, and beyond. I take this opportunity to extend a warm welcome to all our visitors," stated the Mayor. He expressed his pleasure in the growing attendance each year, emphasizing that the carnival brings together residents of all ages and visitors from other cities and countries to revel in colorful costumes, fantastic music, and the beautiful energy that accompanies the event.
Sunčica Laguza from the Center for Work with Children and Youth "MIS Banja Luka" highlighted the demanding organization of the Banja Luka Carnival. Thanks to excellent collaboration with the City of Banja Luka, Mayor Draško Stanivuković, and his advisor Milada Šukalo, the event has been successfully organized for the third consecutive year.
Aleksandar Cicimov, Vice President of the Federation of European Carnival Cities, commended Banja Luka's impressive achievements over the past three years. Achieving such high attendance and attracting over 20 international carnival groups in such a short time is a significant success. He emphasized the importance of international cooperation and hoped to see more Banja Luka groups participating in other carnivals, showcasing the originality of masks from the region. Cicimov concluded by stating that Banja Luka has a promising future in the carnival realm.
