Banja Luka will welcome the promotional caravan of the 57th Mimosa Festival from Herceg Novi on Sunday, January 25, starting at noon. Through a vibrant parade featuring a city brass band, majorettes, trombone players, and masked performers, the event will bring the spirit of the Mediterranean to the city on the Vrbas River and announce one of the largest tourism and entertainment festivals in the region.
The
traditional Mimosa Festival in Herceg Novi will take place from February 13 to
28. The promotional parade, led by the Herceg Novi City Band and accompanied by
the recognizable symbols of this cheerful winter celebration, will fill the
city streets with marching music and festive southern energy. Following the
parade, visitors will be able to enjoy a concert by the Herceg Novi-based band
“Trio Mare,” offering a taste of the unique atmosphere of the Mimosa Festival.
During the event, citizens and guests of Banja Luka will receive mimosa flowers — the symbol of the festival and an invitation to visit Herceg Novi in February. Under the slogan “While Everything Sleeps, the Mimosa Awakens,” the festival will offer around 60 cultural, entertainment, gastronomic, and sports programs.
Among
the most recognizable events of the Mimosa Festival are the Feast of Mimosa,
Fish and Wine, masquerade balls, an international carnival, flower exhibitions,
a rich gastronomic program, and attractive sports competitions. These contents
have for years ranked the festival among the most important tourist events in
the region.
The
Banja Luka Tourist Organization has supported this event as an example of
successful tourism cooperation and as an opportunity to bring the warmth and
festive spirit of the Mediterranean south to the people of Banja Luka in the
heart of winter.
