As part of the “Summer on the Vrbas 2026” festival, Speleology Day will be held on July 8, offering visitors a unique opportunity to explore the fascinating world of caves, pits, and underground exploration.
Nature lovers, adventure seekers, and science enthusiasts will have the chance to learn more about the work of speleologists, the specialized equipment they use during expeditions, and the techniques required to navigate challenging underground environments.
Demonstrations at the City Bridge
The program begins from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the City Bridge, where speleologists will perform demonstration exercises and showcase rope techniques used for climbing, descending, and moving through difficult terrain.
Visitors will be able to see speleological equipment up close and learn how researchers reach some of the most hidden parts of caves and underground passages.
Lecture at Kastel Fortress
Following the practical demonstrations, a lecture dedicated to speleology and underground exploration will take place from 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM in Tower 1 of Kastel Fortress.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the natural phenomena hidden beneath the Earth's surface, as well as the importance of speleological research for science, environmental protection, and tourism.
