Banja Luka will host the Balkan Karate Championships for Seniors and Veterans from February 27 to March 1 this year, with competitions taking place at the Borik Sports Hall.
This
major sporting event is organized under the patronage of the Government of
Republika Srpska, while the championship itself is organized by the Karate
Federation of the Balkans.
The
tournament includes the 28th Balkan Karate Championship for Seniors and the 9th
Balkan Karate Championship for Veterans, bringing together some of the best fighters
from across the region to compete for prestigious titles.
Recognized as one of the most important regional karate events, the championship aims not only to showcase top-level athletic performance but also to promote cooperation, friendship, and mutual respect among athletes from Balkan countries.
Previous
editions of the Balkan Karate Championships have gathered hundreds of
competitors from multiple nations, achieving outstanding sporting and
organizational success and confirming the continuity and high level of
competition across all age categories.
During
the three days of competition, the largest city of Republika Srpska will become
the center of regional karate, with matches conducted under the rules of the
World Karate Federation (WKF).
