Dragan Babić, the captain of the BiH national team and a member of the Banja Luka crew, says the team is fully prepared for the major competition.

“Our goal is to achieve the best possible result. We have worked hard throughout the entire year, and I believe we are heading to Malaysia completely ready. We are all healthy, without any issues, and I hope the trip goes smoothly,” said Babić, adding that the final month of training was especially focused on physical preparation.

Babić emphasized that the team is eagerly awaiting the start of the championship.

“We will compete in two categories. In the master category, it would be excellent to repeat last year's result from Banja Luka, when we won the world champion title. In the open category, we finished fourth overall last year, but I hope we can win a medal in individual disciplines and perhaps even improve our overall ranking,” the captain noted, announcing that the first races are scheduled for Tuesday.

Forty teams from around the globe will take part in the World Championship. Representing Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Banja Luka Dajak Club, will be rafters Dragan Babić, Andrej Zamolo, Igor Kuzmanović, Igor Studen, and Bojan Majkić.

Also traveling with the team is Aleksandar Pastir, president of Rafting Club “Kanjon,” an international rafting judge, and a member of the World Rafting Federation board.

The Banja Luka team hopes to once again position itself among the most notable crews on the world rafting stage.
