As part of the GiftsNet project, the "Night of Fortresses" event will be held in Banja Luka on May 9, starting at 5:00 PM, offering once again a diverse and exciting program.
This year’s "Night of Fortresses" program includes:
5:00 PM – Opening of the event with the "Little Archaeologists" workshop inside the Kastel Fortress (area next to the summer stage);
5:45 PM – "The Fortress Through the Centuries" workshop;
6:15 PM – Knight games;
7:00 PM – Musical program at the summer stage.
Throughout the event, numerous installations will be placed around the fortress grounds, allowing visitors to experience what life once looked like. This part of the program will be especially interesting for the youngest visitors.
This year's edition of the event brings a new focus – raising awareness among visitors about sustainable tourism and ecological practices, encouraging active participation in environmental protection, and promoting cultural heritage as a key element of sustainable development.
For this reason, the event is taking on a new name: "Night of Fortresses Goes Green", emphasizing the connection between cultural heritage and environmental responsibility.
Over the past three years, "Night of Fortresses" has gathered more than 50 sites across 8 countries and 40 cities, including coastal and inland fortresses, castles, museums, galleries, and fortified towns.
Through this successful project, the event has demonstrated great potential for developing sustainable cultural tourism and strengthening international cooperation.
