ZUBAČKA UBLA 2026: SPORTS, TRADITION, AND THE SPIRIT OF HERZEGOVINA IN ONE PLACE

The "Zubačka ubla 2026" event, which will take place on August 1 in Ubla near Trebinje, will bring together lovers of nature, sports, tradition, and culture from across the region.

The rich programme, designed for visitors of all ages, will include sporting events, cultural performances, and religious gatherings, while organizers expect a large number of guests eager to experience the unique atmosphere of the Herzegovinian mountains.

Holy Liturgy and Tribute to Duke Luka Vukalović

The programme will begin at 8 a.m. with a Holy Liturgy at the Church of Saint Despot Stefan in Ubla, followed by the celebration of the church's patron saint day and a memorial service dedicated to Duke Luka Vukalović, one of the most important leaders of the Herzegovinian uprising against the Ottoman Empire.

The evening programme will start at 6 p.m. with a wreath-laying ceremony at the monument dedicated to Duke Luka Vukalović. Visitors will then have the opportunity to enjoy a cultural and artistic programme, followed by a lecture on local history delivered by historian Dejan Škriban.

Mini Outdoor Festival for Children and Young People

One of the highlights of the event will be the Mini Outdoor Festival, which begins at 10 a.m.

Children and young participants will be able to take part in a cross-country race, a cycling competition, and a sport climbing challenge on an artificial climbing wall. Registration will remain open until 9:30 a.m. at the Ubla Mountain Lodge.
