EASTER CROSS IN RIBNIK GATHERS MORE THAN 500 PARTICIPANTS

Organized by the Public Institution “Cultural and Sports Center Ribnik,” under the patronage of the Municipality of Ribnik, the 28th Easter Cross was held on Easter Monday - a traditional event that brings together an increasing number of children, youth, and citizens each year.

The event was officially opened by the Mayor of Ribnik, Duško Dakić, who emphasized that this manifestation is not only a sporting event, but also a symbol of unity, healthy upbringing, and the preservation of traditional values.

He highlighted that he is proud of Ribnik for continuously proving to be a community that invests in youth, sports, and the preservation of the spiritual and cultural foundations on which it stands.

MORE THAN 500 COMPETITORS IN 8 CATEGORIES

This year’s races gathered more than 500 participants, who competed in a total of eight categories – from the youngest preschool children to high school students.

The competitors demonstrated exceptional energy, determination, and sportsmanship, contributing to the vibrant atmosphere of this important event.

AWARDS FOR THE BEST

A special highlight of this year’s event was the increase in financial awards for the winners, thanks to support from the municipal budget of Ribnik.

The prizes were:

100 KM for preschool categories

200 KM for primary school students

300 KM for high school students

RICH SUPPORTING PROGRAM

In addition to the sports segment, the event was enriched with a cultural and artistic program performed by the Ribnik Cultural and Artistic Society, as well as a Gastro-Ethno Fest organized in cooperation with the Tourist Organization of the Municipality of Ribnik and the NGO sector.

Also, the Easter chess tournament, organized by the Chess Club “Ribnik,” gathered a large number of participants from Ribnik and other parts of Republika Srpska.

AWARDS AND RECOGNITIONS

The most successful competitors were awarded diplomas, medals, and cash prizes, while certificates of appreciation were presented to everyone who contributed to the successful organization of the event.

The Mayor of Ribnik thanked all participants and organizers, emphasizing that the municipality will continue to support sports, youth, traditional Orthodox values, and all activities that contribute to strengthening the community.
