The "Igrišta" Ski Center near Vlasenica will officially open its doors to skiing and winter sports enthusiasts on December 20, according to the Vlasenica municipal administration.
Visitors can look forward to modernized slopes designed for all age groups, a six-seat chairlift, and children’s ski areas. The resort also features three trails for night skiing and plans to introduce summer activities after the winter season.
A 30,000-cubic-meter artificial lake has been constructed at the site, further enhancing the resort’s facilities.
To date, 36 million BAM has been invested in the reconstruction of the ski center.
Located along the Vlasenica-Han Pijesak main road, the "Igrišta" Ski Center was originally built as a support venue for the Sarajevo Winter Olympics in 1984. The Government of the Republic of Srpska has entrusted the center to the management of the Olympic Center "Jahorina" for the next 30 years, free of charge.
The newly revamped "Igrišta" is set to become a prominent destination for winter sports and tourism in the region.
