Outdoor enthusiasts from Zvornik marked Sunday, April 26, 2026, with two parallel activities showcasing teamwork, community spirit, and a shared love for nature.
Members
of PEU Korak Zvornik hosted 45 guests from PK Traverza Brčko on a scenic hiking
trail in Liješanj. At the same time, hikers from PD Mladost Zvornik carried out
a spring clean-up campaign at the Planinarski dom Grkinja.
The hiking tour, stretching over 12 kilometers, started at the Grkinja Mountain Lodge, which served as the meeting point. One of the highlights of the route was a visit to the Borovnjak viewpoint, offering breathtaking views of Zvornik Lake, the Drina River, and the mountains of western Serbia. After completing the trail, participants returned to the lodge, where a shared lunch and social gathering were organized for the guests.
While
the hiking tour was underway, members of PD Mladost focused on improving the
lodge and its surroundings. Activities included mowing the yard and cleaning
the facility, all carried out in a positive and friendly atmosphere.
The
collaboration between PEU Korak and PD Mladost stands as a strong example of
how synergy, mutual respect, and effective cooperation can deliver meaningful
results for the local community. The peak of their joint efforts is the
establishment of the Grkinja Mountain Lodge—the first facility of its kind in
the Zvornik area—now jointly managed by the two associations.
